Moscow, Russia - JSC Gazprom-media, the leading diversified media holding in Russia and Eastern Europe, announces its intention to acquire 33.3% stake in Pladform. Agreement on the acquiring a share in Pladform was sent to the Federal Antimonopoly Service for approval of the deal.

In the future, it is planned to create a new company on the basis of Pladform to which the holding Gazprom-media will pass on the brand Rutube and website rutube.ru. Other companies of JSC Rutube - the portal Now.ru, technological platforms and equipment - will not be included in the deal.

The leading online distribution system Pladform together with Russia's largest video service Rutube will create the leading video platform in Russia.

The new company will provide services for the mass market under the brand Rutube, for the rights holders and Internet platforms - under the brand Pladform.

The participation of Gazprom-media in the new company will expand the opportunities of the content distribution, which the holding creates in Runet , and strengthen the position of the holding in the video market.

The head of the digital sub-holding Gazprom media Vadim Fedotov will become a chairman of the Board of Directors of the new company and the general director of Pladform Armen Gulinyan will become CEO of the new company.
