The film company Central Partnership (part of Gazprom-Media Holding) has concluded a number of deals within the framework of cultural cooperation with China. On August 29, viewers in China will see the family fantasy blockbuster The Wizard of the Emerald City. The Yellow Brick Road. And on September 5, the Gruppa krovi military drama, dedicated to the heroism of orphans during the Great Patriotic War, will premiere in China. The military drama, produced by film company Triiks Media, was created with the support of the Cinema Fund, Gazprom-Media Holding, the Russian Military Historical Society, and the Movement of the First.

«Today, we see that Russian-Chinese cultural cooperation is reaching a new level precisely because it is built on trust and the closeness of ethical and life guidelines. Cinema as a universal institution, uniting people and nations with common interests and values, plays its important role. This allows our films to resonate with audiences on both sides of the border. Such interaction is a sustainable and long-term effort that Gazprom-Media Holding will undoubtedly continue».

At the same time, the Russian audience will be able to get acquainted with a new large-scale Chinese film. In China, the film was released on July 25 and held the lead in the box office for three weekends. To date, the film has already grossed over $381 million in China (according to Variety), becoming one of the highest-grossing projects of the year.

The film is based on tragic real events and will allow the Russian audience to touch upon important pages of Chinese history, opening a new dimension of cultural dialogue.

«We see great potential in developing cooperation with China in the field of cinema. There are more and more opportunities for Russian filmmakers and the promotion of high-quality domestic cinema in China, while Russia is also contributing to the popularization of Chinese cinema among our viewers. We are confident that joint work and mutual support will contribute to the development of the film industry and the strengthening of Russian-Chinese cultural ties».
