Gazprom-Media Holding and Indian public service broadcaster Prasar Bharati have signed a memorandum of cooperation and interaction in the field of broadcasting. The agreement was signed by the Aleksandr Zharov, CEO of Gazprom-Media Holding, and Gaurav Dwivedi, CEO of Prasar Bharati.

Together with Prasar Bharati, we will create a unified media space to allow viewers and listeners in Russia and India to access our countries’ best achievements in culture, science, sports, and entertainment. Moreover, this agreement is an investment in the future as joint staff training will allow us to not only adopt best practices, but also create new standards in international broadcasting together. We are confident that this union of creative forces and technologies will open up unique opportunities for the development of both our companies and strengthen the friendly ties between the peoples of Russia and India.”
The agreement provides for the exchange of content between the two companies in the fields of culture, education, science, entertainment, sports, news, and other areas. In addition, the memorandum outlines the parties’ intention to explore options for joint content production, as well as distribution of TV and radio channels on their digital platforms. The agreement also stipulates exchange of personnel for training purposes.
The memorandum was signed during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s state visit to India on the sidelines of the Russian-Indian forum being held in New Delhi.
