Gazprom media announces new appointments

JSC Gazprom media, the leading diversified media holding in Russia and Eastern Europe, today announced a number of appointments in the leadership of the holding companies.

In the framework of realization of the new development strategy of Gazprom-Media, the formation of new structure of management based on business divisions (sub-holdings) is being conducted. By now the formation of a number of sub-holdings, including the sub-holding Gazprom media Match has been completed.

Gazprom-Media Match

Dmitry Granov has been appointed as the head of the sub-holding Gazprom media Match. D.Granov’s area of responsibility includes the development of newly created sports media business of the company, which includes sports channel Match TV, the package of paid sports channels, Internet-portal Sportbox and mobile applications.

Dmitry Granov has over ten years of experience in the media business; at different times he headed the company Amedia and Prof-Media Business Solutions. Until now D.Granov was the president of the JSC City, the managing company MIBC Moscow-City.

"We have completed the formation of the sports business segment, and our goal is a balanced organic growth and effective monetization of sports rights through different media and custom services. I am sure that Dmitry has a lot of experience in the operational management of media business, which will be needed to solve these problems", - commented the appointment Director General of JSC Gazprom media Dmitry Chernyshenko.

"We have reorganized the business of sports division. Particularly sports broadcasting and production of paid sports channels that had previously been part of the business of NTV-Plus are now transferred to the management of the sub-holding GPM match. This will more effectively monetize sports rights in all media, and the operator NTV-Plus will focus on a key business - the work on the market of satellite TV"- said Dmitry Chernyshenko.

NTV-Plus

Mikhail Demin, who previously held the post of deputy director general of the company, has been appointed as Director General of the satellite operator NTV-Plus.

"At the moment we set goals for NTV-Plus to improve operational efficiency and create a sustainable business model on the market for satellite television. The priorities of M. Demin as director general of NTV-Plus will be the costs optimization, including the content and the quality of customer service, "- commented the appointment Dmitry Chernyshenko.

Alexander Vronsky, who held the post of general director of NTV-Plus, decided to leave the company and plans to realize his own projects.

Sub-holding Gazprom media Match

Sub-holding Gazprom media Match consists of sports companies, including the federal channel Match TV, 12 paid specialized sports channels, the sports portal Sportbox and mobile applications.

The satellite operator NTV-Plus is also a part of the sub-holding.

The head of the sub-holding is Dmitry Granov. General producer of TV channel Match TV is Tina Kandelaki.

Dmitry I. Granov

Since 2013 - the President of the City, the management company of Moscow-City.From 2008 to 2012 Dmitriy Granov was the director general of Prof-Media Business Solutions. From 2002 to 2007 he held the key positions in the group of companies Amedia. In 2007 Dmitry Granov was the deputy director general of CJSC Amedia, in 2005-2006 – the Director General of Media City, from 2002 to 2005 – the Director General of Amedia groups. From 1996 to 2002, Dmitry Granov was the founder and director general of Interform.

Dmitry Granov was born in Moscow in 1972. He graduated from the Moscow Automobile and Road Construction University (MADI) having majored in "Engineer" and the Academy of National Economy, having majored in "Master of Business Administration".
