Two Gazprom Media Films Win Kinotavr Awards

The jury of the 31st Kinotavr Open Russian Film Festival, the largest national film festival in the country, announced the winners on September 18. 

The film Masha, a joint project between Mars Media, 1-2-3 Production (part of Gazprom-Media Holding) and TV-3 channel (directed by Anastasia Palchikova), won the prize for best debut.

The audience choice award went to Doctor Liza, which was made by KIT Film Studio (part of Gazprom Media) and the IVAN Production Center in partnership with NTV (also part of Gazprom Media) and with the participation of the Take Shot film company and support from the Russian Ministry of Culture. Rafael Minasbekyan, Dzhanik Fayziev, Alexander Bondarev and Timur Weinstein were the film’s chief producers. 

Doctor Liza, directed by Oksana Karas (Khoroshiy Malchik/The Good Boy), shows a day in the life of the late Russian humanitarian worker Elizaveta Glinka. The screenplay is based on Doctor Liza’s diaries and the stories of her family and friends. It stars Chulpan Khamatova as Glinka, as well as Konstantin Khabensky, Andrey Burkovskiy, Timofey Tribuntsev, Yulia Aug and Tatyana Dogileva.
