Dmitry Chernyshenko: Leaders propose non-standard ideas and are ready to experiment

The forum “Russia - the country of opportunities” is taking place in Moscow between March 13 and 15. The forum unites projects that are aimed at developing and helping talented youth and professionals realize their potential. On the second day of the forum, the CEO of Gazprom-Media Holding Dmitry Chernyshenko, led an individual master class for the finalists of the countrywide contest among managers, “Leaders of Russia.”

At the master class, Dmitry Chernyshenko shared his experience of managing global projects, and also talked about how the projects’ successful completion depends on a correctly chosen strategy. He presented the manager case studies using the examples of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games Organizing Committee, Gazprom-Media Holding and the Kontinental Hockey League.

Dmitry Chernyshenko said that a universal tool for managing large-scale projects was created for the organization and the carrying out of the Olympic Games. Such tools have already been used by the organizers of other major events, he noted. The participants of the master class also learned about the strategic and operational planning systems, staff motivation and the development of the volunteer movement.

In his presentation, Dmitry Chernyshenko put a spotlight on the evolution of Gazprom-Media Holding, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. He said that one of the main strategic goals of a media holding is to create in-demand content, which is accessible on all platforms and in all environments. Today the Holding’s portfolio has more than 100 popular television brands, and its media library boasts 26,000 hours of its own, original content, which is available on the territories of 52 countries.

He stressed that big business and the leaders of the industry should adhere to the principles of social responsibility. Using the examples of the projects on TNT, NTV and Friday! TV channels, Dmitry Chernyshenko explained how television draws the viewer’s attention to socially significant topics and creates social elevators.

“In the media industry, the most organic way of implementing corporate social responsibility projects is to integrate social themes into the content. We are not just informing, educating and entertaining, but changing the lives of people for the better,” said Dmitry Chernyshenko.

In his opinion, it is important for leaders in different industries to be able to offer new, non-standard ideas and be ready to experiment.

Gazprom-Media Holding organized screenings of its own films for the forum participants, Rubezh (The Frontier) and Legenda o Kolovrate (Legend of Kolovrat). As part of the cultural program of the forum, participants had a meeting with the creators of the film Rubezh and there were also performances by the participants of the show Tantsy (Dances) and the residents of the Comedy Woman show.
