The war drama Not Listed, chosen as the opening film of the Russian Film Festival, which opened in Beijing on September 1, was presented by the CEO of Gazprom-Media Holding and the film’s general producer, Aleksandr Zharov. The presentation of the film took place at the Art Cinema of China Film Archive.


The screening was part of the opening of Russian Film Festival 2025, which will be held from September 1 to 12 in Beijing, Xining, and Lanzhou. The event is organized by JSC ROSKINO in collaboration with the China Film Art Research Center with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the State Administration of China for Film Affairs.


With ceremonial speeches, guests were addressed by the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova, CEO of Gazprom-Media Holding Aleksandr Zharov, and president of China Media Group Shen Haixiong. The ceremony was also attended by honorary guests: CEO of JSC ROSKINO Elza Antonova, Deputy Director of the China Film Archive Zhang Xuxia, and Executive Deputy Director of the China Film Administration Mao Yu.

The film Not Listed, based on the novella by Boris Vasilyev, was created by Gazprom-Media Holding, NTV channel, 1-2-3 Production, TEMP, and TROMEDIA film companies, as well as the Moscow Oleg Tabakov Theater, with the support of the Cinema Fund and the Government of Moscow. The filming took place in Belarus and at the Moskino cinema park.


The screening in China is not the first international event for the film. Previously, Not Listed was shown to audiences at Russian film festivals in Uzbekistan, Iran, Indonesia, and Vietnam.


The September Russian Film Festival is a reciprocal cross-cultural step from the Chinese Film Festival 2025, which was successfully held in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Kazan in May, and laid the foundation for regular exchange film screenings between the two countries.


The program of screenings for the Russian Film Festival in China 2025 also includes films such as Gruppa krovi (2025, dir. Maksim Brius), Karuza (2025, dir. Ivan Kharatyan), North Pole (2025, dir. Alexander Kott), The Bremen Town Musicians (2023, dir. Alexey Nuzhny), ON i Ona (2024, dir. Evgeniy Korchagin), Finist. The First Warrior (2024, dir. Dmitry Dyachenko) and The Frog Princess (2025, dir. Alexander Amirov).
