Premiere screening of Rusalka. Ozero Myortvyh held in Sochi
The film Rusalka. Ozero Myortvyh (Mermaid. Lake of the Dead) got its first screening on June 4 in Sochi. The film is a joint production between KIT Film Studio (part of Gazprom-Media) and QS Film. The premiere screening took part within the 106 Kinorynok, which is held annually in parallel with the Kinotavr film festival.
Svyatoslav Podgaevsky directed the mystical horror story, while Dzhanik Fayziev, Rafael Minasbekyan, Aleksandr Bondarev and Ivan Kapitonov acted as the film’s chief producers.
The mystical horror Rusalka. Ozero Myortvyh is based on Slavic mythology. In old Russia it was believed that unmarried girls who drowned became mermaids - evil demons of rivers and lakes. The main character Roma meets a strange girl called Marina by a forest lake and his life is drastically changed by this event.
The film will be released in theaters on July 12, 2018.
