The largest regional conference in the radio broadcasting industry was held in Sochi from 15-16 June. The Russian Academy of Radio (RAR) organised the event and GPM Radio served as its media partner. The main topics discussed at the conference concerned the management, software, commercial, legal and other aspects of running a radio station.

The professional forum “Local radio. Innovations and prospects” brought together more than 250 managers and experts from Russia’s top radio stations, both federal and regional.

At the panel discussion, the manager of GPM Radio’s branch in Kazan Anna Selivanova talked about the tools that exist to measure audiences in the regions and to monetise radio.

Anna Selivanova argued that the sales teams of local radio stations should make more use of the audience measurement tools that are available in order to help build relationships with advertisers on a modern and much more efficient level.

Maria Smirnova, director of the radio sales department at Gazprom-Media Sales House, talked about the ideas and approaches that are used in anti-crisis sales and prove effective during difficult economic periods.
