PromaxBDA, the international association for the entertainment marketing industry, announced the winners of its Promax Europe Awards 2021 contest on May 27, a prestigious global contest in television marketing, promotion and design. TNT4, Friday! and NTV channels received 16 statuettes for their projects, including nine gold and seven silver awards.

TNT4 emerged as the leader in terms of the total number of awards and the number of top awards among Russian TV channels, winning 12 awards, including eight gold and four silver statuettes. The channel was also second in terms of total awards among European channels, surpassing Netflix, AMC, France Televisions, Viacom and others. 

The channel’s promo video for the film screenings under the “Sploshnoe Kino” (Continuous Film) umbrella won seven gold awards. These were awards in the nominations “Holiday/Seasonal Spot”, “Special Event Programme Spots”, “Use of Editing”, “Use of Sound Design”, “Something for Nothing”, “Theatrical Films/Movies Shown on Television Spots”, “Marketing Video/Sizzle Reel/Presentation (Internal or External)”. The promo video to the film screenings “Garmonichnoe Kino” (Harmonious Film) won silver awards in the two latter nominations, “Theatrical Films, Movies Shown on Television Spots” and “Marketing Video/Sizzle Reel/Presentation (Internal or External)”. It also received a silver award in the “Use of Original Music/Score” nomination. The video “Beatbox” won the gold award in this nomination. In the “Use of Music” nomination, the silver award went to the video “Vse Krome Titanika” (Everything Except the Titanic).

Moreover, TNT4’s promo team was vying for the best marketing team in Europe title for the second year in a row. Based on the vote, the channel’s promo team finished in second place. No Russian channel except TNT4 has been nominated in this category in the many years of PromaxBDA’s existence. In total, TNT4 has collected 68 PromaxBDA awards over its five years of broadcasting.

Friday! TV channel won three silver awards. The “Ostavaysya Doma i Puteshestvui” (Stay Home and Travel) campaign took a silver in the nomination “On-Air Ident Campaign (In-House)”. It was filmed in the apartments of the TV channel’s employees during the self-isolation period in Russia. The promo video to the new season of the show Konditer (Confectioner) took silver in the “Radio Spot” nomination, while the promo campaign to the reality show Patsanky (Tomboys) got a silver in the “Media Planning” nomination.

The design of NTV’s documentary film Shpionsky Most (Spy Bridge) won gold in the nomination “General Programme Design Package”. NTV broadcast Spionsky Most in December 2020.
