APKIT Awards Shortlist: Gazprom Media’s TV channels and Studio Projects Receive 19 Nominations

The list of nominees of the 2020 Russian Film and Television Producers Awards (APKIT Awards) was published on February 19. This will be the ninth time that the industry awards are presented for achievements in television and film content. 

Seven projects made by Gazprom Media’s studios are included on the shortlist in 19 nominations out of 21. Projects by 1-2-3 Production, TNT, and PREMIER lead in terms of the number of nominations. The Association of Film and Television Producers will announce the winners on March 26.

TNT, 1-2-3 Production and PREMIER

The TV show Pereval Dyatlova (Dead Mountain; The Dyatlov Pass Incident) leads the nominations by a big margin. Made by TNT and 1-2-3 Production, it was nominated in 13 categories, including Best TV Series (5–24 episodes) and Best Screenplay. Moreover, its creative and film crews are nominated for Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design, Best Visual Effects, Best Original Score for a Series, Best Production Design, Best Makeup, Best editing, Best Sound Editing and Best Casting. 

Two works by 1-2-3 Production and TNT channel have been nominated for Best Director, Pereval Dyatlova (Valeriy Fedorovich, Evgeny Nikishov, Pavel Kostomarov, and Stepan Gordeev) and Igra na Vyzhivanie (Survival Game; Karan Oganesyan in a joint project with Amedia Production).

The #SIDYADOMA (#StayingHome) series, which was filmed during the spring’s quarantine, got one nomination for Best Comedy Series, while Tatyana Dogileva, who played one of the roles in the TV show Obychnaya Zhenshina (An Ordinary Woman, a joint project with LookFilm) was nominated for Best Supporting Actress. The second season of the series was released exclusively on PREMIER in 2020, while the first season premiered on TV-3 channel.

Pereval Dyatlova, Igra na Vyzhivanie, #SIDYADOMA and Obychnaya Zhenshina are available on PREMIER at any time and on any device.

Another project that was produced by Valeriy Fedorovich, Evgeny Nikishov and Alexander Plotnikov had two more nominations. Mertvye Dushi (Dead Souls), directed by Grigory Konstantinopolsky, is nominated for Best Miniseries (1–4 episodes) and Best Supporting Actor for Timofey Tribuntsev’s performance. This series is part of the IVI Originals and TNT lineup.

NTV 

The series that aired on NTV made the APKIT shortlist in two nominations: Delfin (Dolphin), made to order by Gamma Production for NTV, was nominated for Best Miniseries. Nevsky. Ten Arkhitektora (Nevsky. Architect’s Shadow) earned a Best TV Series (more than 24 episodes) nomination.

GPM KIT

The film Serebryannye Konki (The Silver Skates) was nominated for Best Feature Film. It was made by Central Partnership, GPM KIT Group of Companies, Kinoslovo and Nikita Mikhalkov's TriTe Studio with the participation of the Russia 1 TV channel. The Silver Skates, which takes place in Christmastime St. Petersburg at the dawn of the 20th century, was released in Russian movie theaters on December 10, 2020.
