The third annual festival of multi-series films, Utro Rodiny, wrapped up in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Russia on March 14. The festival jury, led by director Sergei Ursuliak, named the best domestic projects of 2019 at the festival’s closing ceremony. The winners included TV series made for the PREMIER video platform and TNT channel (both part of Gazprom-Media Holding).

PREMIER

The series Epidemiya (The Epidemic), which launched on PREMIER in November 2019 received two awards. Cameraman David Khaiznikov, who worked on the series, won an award for “Best cinematography”. Epidemiya also won the honorary award of the festival - recognition by the audience, based on a vote conducted on the Komsomolskaya Pravda website.

The series Uchitelya (Teachers) also received an award at the festival. Actress Anna Kotova-Deryabina won the “Best supporting actress” nomination for her role in the series.

TNT

The series Zhuki (Bugs), which launched on TNT channel in September 2019, won two awards at the festival. Its director Konstantin Smirnov received the award “Jury’s honourable mention”, while actor Maxim Lagashkin won the nomination “Best actor in a supporting role”.
