Gazprom-Media’s entertainment TV channels present projects at MIPCOM market

MIPCOM, the annual trade show for entertainment content across all platforms, was held in Cannes from October 14 to 18. The Gazprom-Media Entertainment TV sub-holding presented the projects from its TNT, TV-3, Friday! channels and PREMIER online platform in the “Made in Russia” pavilion, as well as the new series of the current television season.

Gazprom-Media Entertainment TV also reached an agreement with Polish media companies on the sale of TNT channel's Patsany (Real Guys) TV series formats.

Patsany is a TNT channel comedy series about the life of a Perm resident named Kolyan. The series first appeared in 2010, and has now had 11 seasons. The storytelling is done in a reality show format - a camera follows the main character through all the episodes. Nikolai Naumov, Anton Bogdanov, Vladimir Selivanov and others played the lead roles in the series.

PREMIER Studios presented a number of its ongoing and new projects to the trade show guests, which sparked the interest of international buyers and partners. One of these projects is the series Zvonite DiCaprio! (Call DiCaprio!) by director Zhora Kryzhovnikov. A number of journalists and film critics from major publications named it the best series of 2018.

PREMIER Studios also presented four projects, which are currently in production. They are Polet (Flight), Okhotniki za Natsistami (Nazi Hunters), Gorizont (Horizon) and Pereval Dyatlova (Dyatlov Pass).

Among the new content that will soon be available on the PREMIER platform, MIPCOM participants saw the series Epidemiya (The Outbreak) by Pavel Kostomarov, Identifikatsiya (Identification) by Vladlena Sandu and Call Center by Alexei Chupov and Natasha Merkulova. PREMIER Studios produced these series itself and has already completed the production process. Identifikatsiya and Call Center will be shown in Russia for the first time in 2020, while Epidemiya will be available to watch on the online platform as of November 14, 2019.

TNT channel presented its comedy series Triada (The Triad), which is produced by Russian comedian and screenwriter Semyon Slepakov, as well as Aleksey Nuzhny’s series Tolya-Robot (Tolya is a Robot) starring Aleksandr Pal in the lead role. The trade show participants also saw the series Be Happy from director Andrey Dzhunkovskiy.

Friday! channel presented its comedy Mylodrama (Soap Opera), starring Sergey Burunov, as well as its own project formats in Cannes. TV-3 showed MIPCOM guests the mystical project Documentalist, where Aristarchus Venes plays the lead role, while 2x2 channel presented its new adventure animated series Nigdegorod (Nowhere City), made by 2x2 Animation Studio.
