The Asia Television Forum and Market (ATF) took place in Singapore from 3-6 December. The market, considered to be one of the industry’s biggest events in the region, brings together content sellers from around the world and buyers from Asia, which represent the largest local film companies, TV channels and digital platforms. This year, more than 5,700 participants from 58 countries visited ATF.

The NTV channel took part in the forum for the second time. As part of ATF 2019, the channel conducted talks on the sale of shows, programs and TV series with companies from India and China. Indian buyers showed an interest in the talent show Ty Super! (You are Super!) while Chinese producers looked closely at the talk show Sekret na Million (Secret Worth a Million).

NTV’s action series got the attention of media market representatives in Indonesia, Taiwan and Malaysia, all of which noted the high quality of the channel’s finished series offerings. Earlier in the year, one of the leading international distributors of content, Arait Multimedia, acquired the rights to NTV’s action drama Obratniy Otchet (Countdown) to show in Vietnam.

The channel’s collection of documentary films was also a hit with international companies. Buyers from Taiwan and Turkey, who specialize in educational content, noted that NTV’s projects cover universal storylines with a unique Russian viewpoint.

Forum participants also saw NTV's action-packed comedy drama Geroy po Vyzovu (Hero on Speedial) as part of the Asian Drama Trends program. Asian Drama Trends offers an overview of the main trends in the development of various TV formats on the Asian market, where television and online projects are selected on an exclusive basis. The new NTV series Geroy po Vyzovy tells the story of a doctor who is diagnosed with a brain tumour and discovers that the tumour gets smaller every time he saves someone or does something brave. Buyers from India and China have shown an interest in the project.

More than 50 buyers and representatives of major media companies and VOD platforms from Turkey, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, China and Japan visited NTV’s stand at the forum.
