NTV-PLUS recaps development of its online television in QIII of 2021. Operator’s converged product penetration grows 2.4 times

The operator of digital and satellite television NTV-PLUS has summarised the development of its own OTT platform in the third quarter of 2021.

The number of subscribers to NTV-PLUS’s OTT platform exceeded 205,000 people, which is 2.3% greater than in the third quarter of 2020. Meanwhile, the total number of subscribers to NTV-PLUS, including its satellite platform, was about 1,020,000 people.

The share of NTVPLUS.TV viewers who also subscribe to the operator’s satellite services increased by 143% as compared to the third quarter of the previous year and exceeded 35% of the total online TV audience. Such significant growth in the number of online TV viewers among satellite TV subscribers can be explained by the high penetration of the operator’s converged product - the “Bazovy Online” (Online Basics) package. NTV-PLUS also offers its subscribers the “Online TV (Multiscreen)” service. This service allows them to watch television channels that are part of the satellite subscription on any digital device and on favourable terms.

The online audience continued to show a high level of loyalty in the third quarter of 2021. According to the AppStore, 82% of the users renewed their subscription for the following period. The number of subscribers who used the SVoD model was about 62% of the total number of “digital” subscribers, while the number of viewers who used the PPV model was about 3%.

The service’s technical capabilities also expanded significantly in the third quarter of 2021. Subscribers to NTV-PLUS’ digital platform are now not only able to watch TV channels, but also listen to radio. In addition to 210 TV channels, subscribers can also listen to 23 radio stations, which are offered in a separate, free “Radio Channels” package. They can get access to the package simply by registering on the NTV-PLUS online television service.
