This New Year’s, Sochi will host Liga Stavok. Kubok Match! Boets. Turnir po Boksu, for the first time. Four famous Russian boxers will put together their own teams to go head-to-head live on Match TV.
Viewers will enjoy exciting fights featuring Russia’s best boxers from January 2 to 8. There will be five rounds in each bout to determine which athletes will advance to the final to fight for the title of the best boxer in the ring.
Renowned Russian boxers Murat Gassiev, Dmitry Bivol, Sultan Ibragimov and Eduard Troyanovsky will mentor the four teams, and their fighters will compete in five weight categories (59, 64, 69, 75, and 91 kg+).
The idea for the tournament originated from Russia’s biggest martial arts promoter, Match TV, and it has received support from the Boxing Federation of Russia. Maria Orzul and retired boxer Grigory Drozd will host the tournament.
