The document is based on the desire of both parties to help develop socially significant initiatives and their shared interest in implementing joint socially significant projects. The development of modern social infrastructure, the popularisation of volunteering practices in the media sphere, and the exchange of best practices in corporate social responsibility are important steps towards these goals. The two parties also expect fellow socially responsible media companies and other organisations to join the Declaration with the goal to expand its agenda across all of Russia’s territory. The key areas for supporting socially significant content were also identified in the signed document. These include information and educational support as well as complex social measures.
The signing of the Declaration is aimed at developing long-term, effective cooperation and partnerships, thus becoming a logical extension to joint activities in promoting the social agenda in modern society. Gazprom-Media Holding and the Association of Volunteer Centres signed another agreement about a strategic partnership earlier, in November 2020. At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in 2021, the RUTUBE video platform and the Association of Volunteer Centres also signed a memorandum of cooperation to popularise the volunteer movement and volunteering in Russia.
