Gazprom-Media Holding and ICESCO will develop a strategic cooperation plan

Gazprom-Media Holding and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) will develop a strategic cooperation plan with the prospect of signing a full agreement.


Agreement was reached during a trilateral meeting between the CEO of Gazprom-Media Holding, Aleksandr Zharov, the Director General of ICESCO, Salem bin Mohammed Al-Malik, and the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, Irada Ayupova.

«Developing cooperation in the media sphere with countries of the Islamic world is an important priority of our Holding’s activities. Our interest and belief in the success of joint projects is related to the fact that our countries and peoples, and our cultures are very close».

Key areas of cooperation include promoting ICESCO’s cultural values on the international stage (Russia holds observer status in the organization) and implementing various joint projects in the field of media and culture.


He emphasized that Gazprom-Media Holding is already actively developing relations in the media field with the Islamic world, having started implementing projects with countries such as Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Uzbekistan. Aleksandr Zharov also confirmed the Holding’s openness to new proposals on cooperation, seeing its goal as bringing closer together the peoples, cultures, and countries of Russia and the Islamic world.


The Director General of ICESCO, in turn, noted that the organization «shares the humanistic values of Gazprom-Media Holding and looks forward to fruitful cooperation».


The meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum 2025”, was also attended by Boris Khanchalyan, Deputy CEO of Gazprom-Media Holding and Alina Zinnatullina, CEO of the Insight People production center.
