Gazprom-Media and China Media Group have signed a cooperation agreement

The document was signed by Aleksandr Zharov, CEO of Gazprom-Media, and Shen Haixiong, President of China Media Group (CMG), in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Gazprom-Media Holding and CMG will jointly promote and exchange expertise on technological developments in the media sphere, and strengthen cooperation in news broadcasting.

Gazprom-Media Holding’s partners in China include major media corporations. We are obviously active in the movie distribution market. Our Central Partnership asset recently launched distribution of the movie The Challenge in the People’s Republic of China. We are confident that by entering into partnership with China Media Group, the leading media organization in the People’s Republic of China, we will achieve outstanding results in information broadcasting, as both China Media Group and Gazprom-Media Holding are undisputed leaders in this area in their respective countries.

In addition, Zharov noted that the friendship between Russia and China has reached the highest level of trust and mutual understanding in recent years, and this is especially evident in the media cooperation between the two countries. According to the CEO of Gazprom-Media Holding, the agreement with the China Media Group will further strengthen this area.

Gazprom-Media Holding is Russia’s largest media corporation with assets in news broadcasting, television, film, content production and distribution, digital services, radio, press and online publications. In particular, the media holding owns the NTV, TNT and TV-3 television channels, Autoradio radio station, as well as the national RUTUBE video hosting service.

China Media Group is the largest media company in the People’s Republic of China, founded in 2018. It includes China Central Television (CCTV), Chinese National Radio (CNR) and China Radio International (CRI).
