Gazprom-Media Holding announces the results of the first year of operation of YAPPY

Gazprom-Media Holding has summarized the results of the first year of operation of YAPPY, a vertical short video platform launched on November 29, 2021. During this time, the application's active audience exceeded 8 million people, and the total amount of content uploaded exceeded 6 million videos.

Over the year, YAPPY has become one of the most important digital platforms for viewing and creating content, as well as a place where creative and talented people from different fields and countries come together. This is shown most of all by the numbers: in November 2022, the application's monthly audience exceeded 8 million users, and the number of creators, including millionaire bloggers, has increased 14 times since the beginning of the year and exceeded 1.4 million people. The fact that they can all fulfill themselves and share their content on YAPPY today is the best gift for us.

YAPPY has significantly expanded its geographic footprint since its launch. Today, the application is actively used not only by residents of Russia, but also in other countries: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.

Throughout the year, YAPPY has been improving its functionality and introducing new tools for working with the audience and content. Thus, navigation and the camera have been improved in the application, and the music library has been released and expanded. In addition, users have the opportunity to add a link to any resource directly to their videos, and videos from both beginners and professional creators have begun to get more likes and views thanks to new algorithms.

YAPPY gained a unique new section in October — open room chats. These are themed chats, where an unlimited number of users can communicate, create collabs, and increase their coverage within 24 hours. In just a month, users have created more than 25,000 open chat rooms.

The application has changed not only internally, but externally as well. In anticipation of its first birthday, YAPPY underwent a redesign and changed its logo, fonts, and color palette. Now, key elements respond to the demands of both teenagers over 12 and more adult audiences of 25–34 years old.

We have never doubted YAPPY's potential, and its philosophy has already attracted a large audience. And it continues to grow. Young people like our functionality: people come to the platform to express themselves by creating content in collaboration with famous bloggers. It is very important that YAPPY is a modern Russian product. We managed to overcome the threshold of 8 million subscribers in just a year! For that, I congratulate my colleagues who are engaged in the development and promotion of YAPPY, which, in just a short time, has taken one of the leading roles in our ecosystem of digital services.
