The fantasy thriller Avanpost (The Outpost), produced by PREMIER Studios with a commission from TV-3, premiered in Moscow’s movie theater Oktyabr on November 14. The film’s producers Valery Fyodorovich and Evgeny Nikoshov, director Yegor Baranov and the film’s actors presented the film.
Avanpost’s script centers on the near future, where contact with almost the entire planet is lost as a result of an unidentified cataclysm. There are living people remaining only in the European part of Russia and some of its nearby countries. The survivors, military personnel and journalists, have to figure out what happened and take part in a large-scale battle for the fate of mankind. Pyotr Fedorov, Alexey Chadov, Lukerya Ilyashenko, Svetlana Ivanova, Ksenia Kutepova and Konstantin Lavronenko played the lead roles in the film.
The film’s script was written by Ilya Kulikov (Zakon Kamennyh Djunglei/Rules of the Stone Jungle, Chernobyl: Zona Otchuzhdeniya/Chernobyl: Exclusion Zone, Politseysky s Rublevki/Policeman from Rublevka), and directed by Yegor Baranov (Gogol film series).
