​Giorgio Schwarz put in charge of TNT’s design

One of the most promising young broadcast designers in Europe, Giorgio Schwarz, was appointed as art director of TNT channel.

Giorgio Schwarz will be responsible for the art direction at TNT, reporting to the deputy general manager of strategic marketing. He will oversee the graphic design of TNT’s content, on-air and off-air design of the channel on all platforms.

Giorgio Schwarz brings with him a rich experience of working with the best European companies: MTV, Paramount Channel, Comedy Central, Discovery Networks.

In Italy, Giorgio made a rapid career for himself. By the age of 29 he was already the art director of graphic design at Discovery Networks Italy, having previously worked as an art director and chief designer at MTV World Design Studio in the creative headquarters of MTV International.

“Giorgio has an original, authentic outlook on art design in the media industry. In Russia and abroad, of course, there are a lot of very cool professionals, but it was specifically Giorgio’s ideas that seemed to us the freshest, and we are very happy that he will soon join our team. I am confident that this appointment will become a new impetus to develop not only the visual look of the channel, but the whole television design industry in Russia. Lena Shanovich, who was the art director of TNT channel for 15 years and the head of the TNT design department, is one of the long-term creators of the channel’s visual look, a like-minded person, a friend, a person who was always part of the team. We were very happy to collaborate with her all these years and we think that Lena made a huge contribution to the work of TNT. We will always consider her our close friend,” said Arthur Dzhanibekyan, general manager of the sub-holding Gazprom-Media Entertainment TV and TNT channel.

Multiple works by Giorgio have received international design awards, among them the gold of PromaxBDA Europe for the rebranding of the television channel MTV in 2011, and the gold of PromaxBDA Latin America and PromaxBDA World for the design of the logo to MTV Europe Music Awards in 2010, among others.

“I gladly accepted the offer to work on Russia’s main entertainment channel. TNT has relevant, unique and strong content, a powerful and creative marketing team, which I will be a part of. It’s an honour, as an art director, to develop further and bring to the next level the most vivid and lively brand on Russian TV,” said Giorgio Schwarz.
