Detskoe Radio has been awarded the President of the Russian Federation’s Prize in the Field of Culture for works and projects for children and youth. The solemn award ceremony took place at the Kremlin on March 25, the Day of Cultural Workers in Russia.
Today, Detskoe Radio is a large-scale multimedia ecosystem that combines traditional broadcasting practices with the most advanced digital technologies. The radio station was the first in the country to bring to life its virtual characters, Vesnushka and Kipyatosha, using mapping, and their adventures were Russia’s first multicast: an audio podcast animated by neural networks. Here, technology helps to talk about important things – the native language, literature, values – in a way that is understandable to children. Through interactive formats, millions of children discover classical literature and significant pages of history. Key projects include the “HRUM” transmedia universe of detective podcasts (about 300 million listens in 2025*) with theatrical productions, “Bukvoed” [Pedant] educational cycles and “Obyasnite [Explain], Alexander Sergeyevich!”, the “Ya pomynu! Ya gorzhus” [I remember! I’m proud!] intergenerational project, tours of the radio station (more than 28,000 guests in three years**), as well as large-scale Detskoe Radio Discos, which attract tens of thousands of spectators to top venues of the country, and the company’s own music label Ura! Muzyka [Hurray! Music], which has become a professional platform for young talents.
