In 2019, search engines removed three times more links to pirated resources that contain video content of Gazprom-Media Holding as compared to 2018. This became possible by fulfilling the conditions outlined in the memorandum on cooperation on copyright protection in the digital environment.

Gazprom-Media signed the anti-piracy memorandum, which was developed with the support of Roskomnadzor in November 2018. In January 2020, the time limit of the anti-piracy memorandum was extended until 31 January 2021.

The memorandum was signed by rights holders and the largest Internet companies, including VGTRK, National Media Group, Yandex, Mail.ru Group, Rambler&Co, among others.

The document sets an algorithm to prevent search engines from giving links to websites that violate copyrights. In line with the memorandum, a special registry of such links was created and regularly updated. Internet companies have to exclude these links from their search engines within six hours of them appearing in the registry.

Gazprom-Media is constantly working on protecting the copyrights to their content in the digital environment. In 2018 and 2019, more than 10 million links to pirated content were detected and blocked.
