The CEO of Gazprom-Media Holding, Aleksandr Zharov, participated in the plenary session «Creative Economy of Russia. Horizon 2050» as part of the RICS International Conference on Creative Economy and the forum «Creative Code. Russia».


In his speech, Aleksandr Zharov spoke about the impact of artificial intelligence on creative industries and the strategies of the Holding’s work in global markets.


«The impact on creative industries from a media perspective will be determined by global trends, primarily the development of artificial intelligence. It is important to consider this international experience. Our company is actively developing in this direction. Just a month and a half ago, we signed an agreement with a chinese partner specializing in AI developments for media and cinema. As part of the cooperation, we plan to create joint products, not only for the development of our RUTUBE platform, but also for boxed solutions for sale in international markets».

Aleksandr Zharov noted that the successes of Gazprom-Media Holding are directly linked to the support of PJSC Gazprom, thanks to which large-scale media projects are created both in Russia and abroad. According to him, the company’s focus on the development of creative industries allows for the implementation of initiatives capable of shaping the cultural agenda and strengthening international cooperation. The head of the Holding emphasized that the unification of efforts of creative industry companies and major economic leaders will be an important step towards achieving the goal set by the President of Russia: to increase the share of creative industries in the country’s GDP to 6%.


The head of Gazprom-Media Holding, Aleksandr Zharov, thanked the leadership of Uzbekistan, represented by Gayane Umerova, for their support in implementing media projects in the country, noting the success of the show Survive in Samarkand, which became a hit on television and online platforms.


A welcome address to the conference participants was made by the Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov.

The session was moderated by journalist and Emmy and Peabody award winner Rick Sanchez.


Participants of the joint plenary session of the International Conference on Creative Economy RICS and the Forum «Creative Code. Russia» discussed how creative industries are becoming a key resource for sustainable growth and a driver of new forms of cooperation up to the horizon of 2050. The focus of the discussion was on the strategies that countries choose for the development of this dynamic sector. The central theme was the search for the most relevant forms of international cooperation and the role of states in supporting industries.


«Creative Code. Russia» is the first federal forum in Russia dedicated to the development of the creative economy. The forum was organized by PJSC Gazprom and the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives. The event will take place on October 9–10 at the Gazprom headquarters, Lakhta Center in St. Petersburg, and will bring together representatives of the government, business, and creative industries.
