​TNT and TNT4 channels win Clio Entertainment Awards

The awards ceremony for Clio Entertainment Awards 2019, the prestigious and oldest prizes handed out in the field of TV marketing, took place on November 21. Projects by TNT and TNT4 (part of Gazprom-Media Holding) became the first among Russian entertainment channels to receive the Clio Awards.

It was the first time in the history of the awards that a Russian television channel took the Grand-Prix in the nomination “Best promo”. This was TNT4 channel, which presented its promo clip “Odinakovo Moshnoe Kino” (Equally Powerful Film) at the festival. The clip has already won awards in various nominations at the television promotion contests PromaxBDA UK 2018, PromaxBDA Asia 2018, Promax Europe 2019 and PromaxBDA Global Excellence Awards 2019, as well as at the film awards Golden Trailer Awards 2019. The other winners of this year’s contest, besides TNT4 channel, included Microsoft, HBO, Amazon Prime and the trailer for Joker, one of the highest-grossing films of the year.

TNT4 channel also received a gold award in the nomination “Best film editing” for the promo clip “Odinakovo Moshnoe Kino”, while the promo clip to the film Zapresheny Priem (Sucker Punch) got a silver in the nomination “Best sound design”.

The awards were handed out in the legendary Dolby Theatre, where the Oscars are awarded every year.

TNT channel also received a bronze at the Clio Awards in the nomination “Social media” and a silver in the nomination “Digital and mobile” for its case “GIF Dance Master”, launched to promote the talent show Tantsy (Dances). Ahead of the show’s fifth season, the television channel set out to tell about the project and to teach dance to the show’s target audience - the youth. The viewers had to repeat GIFs with dance movements from the show’s mentors and post them on Instagram while tagging the TV channel’s account, as well as use AR-masks in TikTok. When the GIFs were put together, a complete dance sequence emerged, which contest participants received prizes for. The participants’ GIFs and ARs received 165,000 views, and more than 900,000 dance videos were created in total.
