The film Tekst (Text), directed by Klim Shipenko, will get a limited release in September. The film will be shown at the Karo Film cinema chain from September 17 to 22.
The September release will make the film eligible to compete for an Oscar on behalf of Russia, according to representatives of Central Partnership film company (part of Gazprom-Media Holding), which produced Tekst together with the START video service. The rules of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences state that a film must spend at least one week at the box office before September 30 in the nomination year to contend for an Oscar.
