The film series Epidemiya (The Outbreak), which was produced by THT-PREMIER Studios, was included in the main competition of the 41st Moscow International Film Festival. This is the first time in the history of the Moscow Film Festival that a film shot for the THT-PREMIER online platform has become a contender in the main competition of an A-class festival.

Thirteen films were presented in the main MIFF competition this year. Among them, the new creation of Svetlana Proskurina Voskresenie (Sunday), Latvian film The Mover by Davis Simanis, and the new film by Iranian director and Berlin International Film Festival award winner Rasul Sadrameli, My Second Year in College. The main competition also features entries from Italy, France, Germany, Finland, Turkey, Japan, China and Kazakhstan. Kim Ki-duk, winner of the Golden Lion at the Venice International Film Festival for his thriller Pieta, is chairing the jury of the main competition at the 41st MIFF.

Pavel Kostomarov, director of the series Zakon Kamennyh Djunglei (Rules of the Stone Jungle) and Chernobyl. Zona Otchuzhdeniya (Chernobyl. Estranged Zone), directed Epidemiya. TV-3 channel director Valery Fyodorovich and the channel’s chief producer Evgeny Nikishov (Obychnaya Zhenshina/An Ordinary Woman, Gogol, Chernobyl. Estranged Zone, Politseysky s Rublyovki/The Policeman from Ryblyovka, Rules of the Stone Jungle) produced the project along with Ivan Golomovzyuk, director of TNT-PREMIER Studios. Rafael Minasbekyan, general manager of Gazprom-Media KIT, and Dzhanik Fayziev, general manager of KIT Film Studio, also served as producers.

The film series features famous Russian actors Victoria Isakova, Maryana Spivak, Kirill Kyaro, Aleksandr Robak, Yuri Kuznetsov, Anna Mikhalkova, Aleksandr Yatsenko and others.
