On June 11 the PREMIER video service (part of Gazprom-Media Holding) will hold the premiere of Semyon Slepakov’s new series Okayannye Dni (Cursed Days). This project is made up of 10 stories. Filmed in the screenlife format, they tell viewers about what was happening to people in the country during quarantine. Famous directors and actors worked on the series. They are known to the viewers from other projects offered by PREMIER and TNT channel, including the series Politskeysky s Rublyovki (The Policeman from Rublevka), Ostrov (The Island), Domashny Arest (Home Arrest), Zhuki (Bugs) and the sketch show Nasha Russia (Our Russia).

Popular comedian Semyon Slepakov and the co-author of Domashny Arest Maxim Tukhanin wrote the scripts for nine out of the 10 episodes. Andrey Boltenko filmed four episodes, actress Irina Vilkova (Politseysky s Rublyovki, Ostrov) filmed two episodes, while directors Petr Buslov (Domashny Arest), Maxim Pezhemskiy (Nasha Russia), Roman Volobuev (Posledniy Ministr/The Last Minister) and actor Vladimir Epifantsev (Zhuki) filmed one episode each.

The plot of the series shows that the self-isolation regime has revealed the most unexpected aspects of human nature. Life has been divided into “before” and “after”, and if “before” social distancing was seen as a very good thing, in the “after” period most people saw it as punishment. The wondrous new world of “remote work” has created a new creature, a human of the self-isolation era, and spawned incredible stories, which probably would not have happened in any other circumstances.
