Gogol. Viy shown at Kinotavr film festival

The mythical detective film Gogol. Viy was shown in Sochi on June 7. The special screening of the film, produced by TV-3 and Sreda producer center, was part of the program Kino na Ploshadi (Film on the City Square) at the Kinotavr film festival.

The audience members were introduced to the film by its director Egor Baranov, film producer and TV-3 general manager Valery Fyodorovich, as well as the lead actors Yevgeny Stychkin, Artyom Tkachenko and Yulia Frantz.

The film Gogol. Viy is the second part of the popular film series Gogol. The film was first shown in theaters on April 5. It was watched in cinemas by around 2 million viewers and its box office exceeded 450 million rubles.

The detective mystical thriller, directed by Egor Baranov, tells the story of a young writer and novice poet Nikolay Gogol, played by Aleksandr Petrov, who is investigating the mysterious murders of young women in the village Dikanka with the help of his assistants, policeman Binkha (Yevgeny Stychkin), blacksmith Vakula (Sergey Badyuk), and doctor Bomgart (Yan Tsapnik).

The final part of the trilogy, Gogol. Strashnaya Mest (Gogol. The Terrible Revenge), will appear in theaters on August 30 later this year.
