Match TV wins the Runet Prize

The 13th ceremony of the Runet Prize, a national award which honours the best digital projects in Russia, was held on November 22, 2016 in Izvestia Hall. Match TV channel won in the category “Culture, Media and Mass Communications.”

“The Prize continues to fulfill one of its main functions year after year,” said Tina Kandelaki, general producer of Match TV. “Here the value is put not only on a beautiful idea or concept, but also on how viable the project is and how useful it is to the target audience. It is especially important that this contest can boast fulfilling the main criteria - everybody competes under equal conditions.”

According to data from the TNS Web Index, the aggregate share of digital sites of GPM Match (matchtv.ru, sportbox.ru) accounts for more than 55% among the sport resources on the Russian Internet, and covers more than half of the audience of all the Russian-language Internet.

According to Google Analytics, the average monthly visits to Match TV digital resources exceeds 43 million sessions. The mobile application Match! Club, which has more than 1.7 million subscribers, is a leader among mobile applications with the function of a second screen. The growth dynamics of the Match TV audience on social networks over the past year significantly exceeded the dynamics seen on the social networks of other Russian sports media. The general audience now counts more than 1.1 million subscribers.

The Runet Prize is a national award in the segment of high technologies and the Internet. The organizers of the Runet Prize are the Russian Association for Electronic Communications (RAEC) and the Coordination Centre for the national .RU and .РФ domains.
