Match TV announces the acquisition of rights to show the games of the current Stanley Cup. Broadcasts will begin immediately after the final of the Gagarin Cup series. The TV channel Match TV will show live Russian NHL stars in the fight for the Stanley Cup.
When choosing games to be displayed on federal public channel a priority will be given to the teams, in which Russian hockey players are, among them - Pavel Datsyuk, Alexander Ovechkin, Evgeniy Kuznetsov, Artemiy Panarin Vladimir Tarasenko and other NHL stars.
In the first round of the NHL playoffs the greatest interest at this point are pairs of Washington - Philadelphia, Chicago - St. Louis and Detroit - Tampa.
Date and time of the first Stanley Cup broadcast on Match TV will be known soon.
