The film A Hidden Life by Terrence Malick will be released in cinemas on March 19. The new film distribution company White Nights (part of Gazprom-Media Holding) is overseeing the film’s distribution in Russia.
The world premiere of A Hidden Life took place at the Cannes Film Festival 2019, where the film also received the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury.
Based on real events, A Hidden Life is a story of Franz Jagerstatter, a symbol of Austrian resistance who refused to fight for Nazi Germany in World War II. He is confronted by the threat of the death penalty, but despite multiple opportunities to escape it, he continues to defend his convictions, drawing strength from his faith and the love of his family.
