Central Partnership film company (part of Gazprom-Media Holding) and the Latin American film studio BF Films are pleased to announce the start of their first joint project - the feature-length psychological horror Schizophrenic.
The action unfolds within the real, frightening world of a severe mental disorder. Dark stories from real patients and their various manifestations of schizophrenia, such as conspiracy theories, altered perceptions of reality and hallucinations, are at the centre of the film.
Hernany Perla (Nightingale, Sequestered) is writing the screenplay. His works have twice appeared in The Black List, Hollywood’s prestigious annual survey of the best screenplays not yet produced. Schizophrenic will be filmed in Russia at the end of 2021 and beginning of 2022. It will be shot by an international film crew in English.
Carlos Hansen, Juliana Jacobsen (BF Films) and Vadim Vereshchagin (Central Partnership) are producing the film.
