In Moscow, a meeting was held between representatives of the International Relations Department of Gazprom-Media Holding and Manpreet Singh Nagi, President and Chairperson of the Indian Chamber of International Business (ICIB). The agenda featured opportunities for international cooperation in the fields of media and culture.

At the meeting, representatives of the Holding presented current results of work in the Indian direction: filming of the series Chelyabinsk Raja is completed, co-production projects with Indian partners are being prepared, strategic partnership with Zee Entertainment is developing, and Times of India is covering the Holding’s projects for the Indian audience.

“India is a key direction of the Holding’s international development. Today’s meeting was an important step in building a long-term dialogue with Indian partners. We see great potential for joint work and are ready to proceed in a systematic manner.”

The parties discussed future projects of Gazprom-Media Holding in India: organizing a business mission of the Holding in September, searching for new partners, as well as Indian companies interested in entering the Russian market through the Holding’s media resources.

Special attention was paid to finding points of intersection of the parties’ interests. Participants discussed the directions of work of the Indian Chamber of International Business (ICIB) in media and cultural initiatives and identified areas where the Chamber’s expertise could enhance the Holding’s projects.

“Cooperation between Russia and India in the field of creative industries, especially in cinema and media, can revive the close ties between the peoples of our countries, which were largely lost after the era of phenomenal popularity of Raj Kapoor and Mithun Chakraborty. The ICIB has already laid the foundation for this process, having implemented a number of joint projects over the past year. Today, thanks to the strengthening of friendly relations between Russia’s President Vladimir Putin and India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it is time to take Russian-Indian cooperation in the field of creative industries to a qualitatively new level.”
