The military drama Mednoe Solntse (The Copper Sun), starring popular Russian actor Vladimir Mashkov, and Elizaveta Listova’s documentary project Severny Morskoy Put (Northern Sea Route) have been nominated for the prestigious, international Content Innovation Awards 2019.
The ceremony of the Content Innovations Awards 2019 will take place on October 13, in Cannes, as part of MIPCOM 2019.
Fellow nominees include the projects of such media giants as Rai, Sky, HBO, NBCUniversal, SHOWTIME, Endemol Shine Group, Discovery and others.
The drama Mednoe Solntse is among the finalists in the “Global spotlight award” category. This category was established this year to recognize the best drama projects from around the world that were not filmed in English.
The documentary cycle, Severny Put, is on the shortlist for “Best documentary series”. In this nomination, the jury will evaluate the degree of innovation and production of the documentary series, as well as its approach to storytelling.
