Spencer, Pablo Larrain’s film about Princess Diana, will be shown at the Venice Film Festival, which takes place from 1-11 September. Russian viewers will be able to see the film very soon after the festival. The film’s release date is set for November. White Nights (part of GPM KIT Group of Companies, which is part of Gazprom-Media Holding) is the film’s distributor in Russia.
The film’s script was written by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight. The plot centres on Princess Diana’s Christmas holidays with the royal family in Sandringham House in Norfolk, England. The action takes place over the course of three days during which Diana decides that her marriage to Prince Charles, who had an affair with Duchess Camilla Parker-Bowles, is doomed. Kristen Stewart plays Princess Diana and Jack Farthing plays Prince Charles.
