NTV-PLUS digital and satellite television operator has tallied up the progress made in developing its own OTT-platform in the first quarter of 2020. The total number of paying subscribers to NTV-PLUS’ OTT-platform has more than doubled as compared to the first quarter of 2019, reaching 98,210 people. The operator also noted growth in the number of people who only subscribe to the online service NTV-PLUS.TV and do not have a “satellite” subscription. Their number reached 73,330 people at the end of the first quarter, which is 107% higher than the numbers for the same period in 2019. The retention rate, which denotes the number of subscribers who renewed their subscriptions for the next period, was 75%.
The share of people who watch NTV-PLUS’ online television and also subscribe to the operator’s “satellite” services, was 25.4% in the first quarter of 2020. These subscribers can use the “Online TV (Multiscreen)” service, which allows watching television channels, which are part of the “satellite” subscription, on any digital device.
According to the television viewership data for NTV-PLUS’ online audience, the most popular film channels on the digital platform are Kinopremiera HD, Kino TV and Kinohit, whileDiscovery Channel HD, Animal Planet HD and National Geographic are the most in-demand among subscribers to the platform’s “Educational” package. In the sports packages, “Supersport” and “Euro Sport”, the biggest hits are Match!, Match! Premier HD, Match! Football 1 HD, Eurosport 1 HD, KHL HD and KHL. The viewers who subscribe to the “Detsky” package opt for the channels Disney, V Gostyah u Skazki and Multimuzyka, while the top channels for adults are Russkaya Noch, Hustler and Barely Legal.
