Biography

2016 - General Manager of the KIT Film Studio, which is part of Gazprom-Media Holding.

Also in 2016 he produced the films Legenda o Kolovrate (The Legend of Kolovrat) and Rubezh (Frontier), as well as a range of TV series for Channel One and NTV.

2012 - Director and Producer of the film Avgust. Vosmogo (August Eighth).

2007 to 2009 - Producer of TV series for Channel One: Ischeznuvshye (The Missing), Desantura (Landing Forces), Diversant. Konets Voiny (Sabouteur. The End of the War), Na Puti k Serdtsu (On the Way to the Heart), and Gromovy. Dom Nadezhdy (Gromovy. House of Hope).

2008 - Producer of the films Admiral and Kanikuly Strogogo Rezhima (High Security Vacation).

2005 - Director of the feature film Turetsky Gambit (Turkish Gambit), based on the novel by Boris Akunin. In 2006 he was the screenwriter and director of a series with the same name for Channel One.

2002 to 2005 - Head of the film production directorate at Channel One.

1995 to 2000 - Worked with NTV and Channel One.

In 1997 he was the idea author and director of the program Perekhvat (Interception) for NTV, as well as a director of the program Nemedny 61-91. Nasha Era (Our Days 61-91. Our Era). In the late 1990s he worked as a television director and released several projects, including a cycle of New Year’s musical films Starye Pesni o Glavnom (Old Songs about Main Things) for Channel One.

Dzhanik Fayziev was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on July 30, 1962. In 1983 he graduated from the acting faculty of the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (VGIK), and in 1991 from the institute’s directing faculty.

He is an assistant professor of the television department at VGIK’s directing faculty and a member of the Public Council of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation. He is also an honoured artist of the North Ossetia-Alania Republic.

Awards

2002 - Winner of the Russian Federation state prize in the educational sphere for the television program Formula Vlasti (The Power Formula).

2008 - Zolotoy Oryol award for the best TV movie or mini-series for Diversant. Konets Voiny.

2009 - TEFI award in the nomination “Best film/series producer” for I Ti Brut? Vsemirnaya Istoriya Predetelstv (You too, Brutus? The World History of Betrayal).
