Vladimir M.Kulistikov was born in 1952 in East Germany.
In 1974 graduated from the international journalism department of the Moscow State Institute for International Relations.
From 1974 to 1978 worked for various departments of the Ministry of Foreign Trade of the USSR.
From 1978 to 1985 was a researcher with the Institute of Scientific Information under the Academy of Sciences of the USSR.
From 1985 to 1990 was Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Novoye Vremya (New Times) magazine.
From 1990 to 1993 worked as a Moscow correspondent of the Arabic-language newspaper Al-Hayat.
From 1993 to 1996 was senior correspondent, commentator and then supervisor of the Liberty Life daily news program by the Moscow bureau of Radio Liberty.
From 1996 to 2000 was Deputy Editor-in-Chief and Editor-in-Chief of the News Service and then Deputy Director General — head of the News Service of NTV Broadcasting Company.
From 2000 to 2001 was Chairman of the Board of Russian news agency Vesti (RIA Vesti, RIA Novosti).
From 2001 to 2002 was a member of the Board of Directors, Editor-in-Chief and then Deputy Director General of NTV Broadcasting Company.
From 2002 to 2004 was Deputy Chairman of VGTRK Russian state television and radio company, First Deputy Director General and Head of the Directorate for News Programs of the Rossiya state television channel.
Since July 2004 — Director General of JSC NTV Broadcasting Company.
